lyrics

Why?
I keep asking
I try
To find the answer
I cry
So many tears for you

I put the paper down
Newsprint spelled tragedy
The headlines broke my heart
Torn apart by families
Searching in the dark
Were they searching in vain?
I put the paper down
I couldn’t take the pain

Why?
I keep asking
I try
To find the answer
I cry
So many tears for you
I know it’s time

I turned the TV off
The light faded away
But the picture stayed
I could still your face
I got down on my knees
And I began to pray
The answer came to me
I need to help today

Why?
I keep asking
I try
To find the answer
I cry
So many tears for you
I know it’s time
I know it’s time…
